Numerology treats the letters of your name as numbers, and adds them up in a few different ways to produce a handful of core figures — most often the Expression, Soul Urge and Personality numbers. The Pythagorean letter system

Most Western name numerology uses the Pythagorean system, assigning each letter a digit from 1 to 9 in repeating order:

Two totals are traditionally left unreduced: 11 and 22 (and sometimes 33), known as "master numbers," said to carry stronger, more concentrated versions of their reduced meaning (11 relates to 2, 22 to 4).

Expression number (also called Destiny number)

This is calculated from every letter in your full birth name — first, middle and last. Convert each letter to its number, add them all together, then reduce to a single digit (keeping master numbers unreduced). Soul Urge number (also called Heart's Desire)

Personality number

• Full sum for Expression: 1+5+1+3+5+5 = 20, then 2+0 = 2
• Vowels only for Soul Urge: A(1) A(1) E(5) E(5) = 12, then 1+2 = 3
• Consonants only for Personality: N(5) L(3) = 8
