What these tools actually do
These are the working tools rather than the reading pages. Some compute a real chart from your birth data, some draw a card, some show you what the sky is doing today. What they have in common is that they do the arithmetic instead of describing it.
The chart tools — natal chart, rising sign, moon sign, synastry, planetary hours — run entirely in your browser using the same ephemeris the rest of the site is built on. Your birth date, time and location are never sent anywhere, because there is no server to send them to. The sky tools, like the lunar calendar and the retrograde list, are computed when the site is built, so they load instantly and cost nothing to use.
The tools that do not calculate anything are labelled as reference guides, not calculators. That distinction is deliberate: a page that calls itself an oracle and then returns a fixed paragraph is not a tool, and we removed the ones that did.
Questions about the tools
Is my birth data stored anywhere?
No. The chart tools are client-side JavaScript — the calculation happens in your browser and the numbers never leave the page. Reloading the page discards them.
Which house system do you use?
Equal house, measured from the ascendant. It is defined at every latitude and needs no iteration, which makes it reliable for readers at high latitudes where Placidus breaks down. Every chart page says so explicitly.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For the rising sign and the house positions, yes — the ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes. For the Sun, Moon and planet positions, a date is enough for everything except a fast Moon, and a rough time gets you within a degree or two.
Are the tarot and rune tools random?
They use your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, so yes, genuinely random rather than a rotating list. The interpretations are fixed text attached to each card or rune.
